this is possibly the biggest obey piece I ever seen!
Mr. Spray by Shepard Fairey. It’s his first original vinyl toy in eleven years!
Mr. Spray toy is based on Shepard’s artwork that he created to promote the motto “make art, not war”
Red and black coloration are already sold out at strangeco. Silver version is this year’s SDCC exclusive and gold one will be released on obeygiant.com later this year.
I got to admit that Mr. Spray’s 3D face is very handsome.
2008 SDCC exclusive gold King Ken approves.
I got a chance to visit Pittsburgh for the first time so I studied all the spots that Shepard Fairey did during his exhibition at the Andy Warhol Museum.
This mural was conveniently right next to the Andy Warhol Museum.
Despite its street level location, it was in a perfect condition.
And this one was even protected with fences around it. that’s legit.
Now at the Andy Warhol Museum.
Andy Warhol’s Silver Clouds were actually walkable installation. Kids were going nuts in this room. So was I. Super cool.
This was my favorite room at the museum. Gigantic Andy’s camourflage piece and Keith Haring’s elephant piece. it was my first time seeing Keith Haring’s work.
Then off to another obey spot at Double Wide Grill on E. Carson St. No tags and no rips…people at Pitts are nice.
Ruggers Pub using Shepard as their trash can decoration. classy.
E. Carson and 14th St. Amazingly well kept.
and this one is my favorite. a beautiful combination of detailed print and red bricks, amazing.
and when you are in Pittsburgh, you gotta try Primanti Bros, according to Adam.
Primanti Bros were featured on MvF Pittsburgh episode. That’s actually why I went.
OMG. ham, coleslaw, tomato, fried egg, and fries all in one sandwich, hard not to like.
Andy Warhol Self-portrait.
at the museum, they had a workshop corner for kids where kids can draw on Andy’s face, and since my trip to Pitts was heavily based on Obey, I drew the giant face. Came out pretty nice. haha.
I even scored the left over t-shirt from Shepard’s show. Turns out traveling based on Obey and Man Vs. Food is very entertaining. A little geeky side of me but no offense, there weren’t much to do in Pitts…
outdoor mural at E. Houston and Bowery…the biggest obey mural I ever seen. sadly it’s been tagged.
It couldn’t even fit into the picture…
Obey pop up shop at the Reed Space Annex.
The day I went, there was Martha Cooper book release party.
Obey team really put a lot of work into this pop up shop.
I wouldn’t mind buying these…
There she was, the legendary graffiti photographer, Martha Cooper. She has a new book out called “Name Tagging”. She’s been taking photos of classic “Hello my name is” sticker culture. I can’t believe she stills goes out to the street to find the tags. The book is very entertaining. Highly recommended.
Jeff Staple, the founder of the Reed Space and Staple, were working hard at the store due to the event next door. He kindly autographed the staple bearbrick that he designed. sweet.

Obey x Levi’s.

If you purchase any obey product from Levi’s nyc store, they give this amazing obey poster set. At first, I just put four of Levi’s set with two other posters I got from IBC installation.

I actually managed to score two sets so ended up putting all up together. it looks like ICA exhibition in my living room. pretty sweet.

Posters are double sided and if you put them together…this scary looking girl comes out. Not really recommended…

it’s all about the details!

Even inside of the jacket gets obey art work. quite awesome.
