MSOS and TTLS

When I went back to Korea over the break, I finally got my hands of soulscape’s highly anticipated “More Sound of Seoul” mix cd. It’s simply amazing. Funkier than his previous mix and very tightly put together. Big respect to soulscape’s hard work!

While I was visiting soulscape at BBS, he was packaging “MSOS” cds to be shipped to Turntablelab. Then I realized since I was flying into NYC, so we decided to hand-deliver the package to the lab.

as a result, “MSOS” is now available at turntablelab! very limited copies, get them now!

if you read the review, it says “but Soulscape just had someone hand-deliver these from Seoul!”. How funny is this…I’m mentioned on turntablelab! except nobody knows that someone is me…anyway, they must have been super surprised the fact that some random ass Korean kid dropped the delivery. It’s been my honor to deliver soulscape’s historic mix cd to the world’s best dj store.

While I was visiting Turntable Lab store in nyc for the delivery, I ran into Benjamin Kim, who apparently is in charge of TURNTABLE LAB SEOUL!!!!!

So the rumor is true, Turntable Lab Seoul is opening very soon (Late Feb). According to Benjamin, TTLS will have same exact inventories as NYC store since everything ships from the lab warehouse in Brooklyn. This is soooo huge. This is very exciting moment for Korean dj community. This will change everything for Korea. Check out TTLS blog for updates on its opening. Korea is what’s up now.

Korean rare grooves are very unusual genre to mix as a dj, but for dj soulscape, it’s just a genre that he loves and wants to share with the world. So about two years ago, as a result of his affection with Korean grooves, he created “Sound of Seoul” mix cd. Now he is back with “More” sound of Seoul.

I actually didn’t have a chance to hear the new mix cd but here is a video of his recent live act. It’s the moment I wish I didn’t miss…big respect soulscape! (photos and video via soulscape’s blog)
